Why learn first aid?

Learning first aid is extremely beneficial, and here’s why:

  • You can save lives: This is the most crucial reason. Being able to respond effectively in emergencies—whether by performing CPR, controlling bleeding, or assisting someone who is choking—can be life-saving for a family member, coworker, or even a stranger.

  • You'll be prepared for emergencies: Accidents can occur anytime, anywhere. Knowing first aid equips you with the confidence and ability to act quickly and efficiently, minimizing harm in critical situations.

  • You can ease pain and discomfort: First aid training enables you to provide immediate care that can reduce pain and discomfort until professional medical assistance arrives, improving the well-being and recovery of the injured person.

  • It boosts confidence: Having the skills to handle emergencies can enhance your confidence, helping you remain calm and make rational decisions in stressful situations.

  • It's an essential life skill: Like swimming or driving, first aid is a fundamental skill that everyone should have. You never know when you might need it, but being prepared can make all the difference.

  • It strengthens your community: A community with more trained individuals is a safer and more resilient one. By learning first aid, you contribute to a network of people ready to respond in emergencies.

  • It's easier than you think: First aid courses are designed to be straightforward and accessible, even for those without medical experience. The skills taught are practical and applicable in many situations.

Choose Your Learning Path: Standard or Express

Standard Course
The standard face-to-face course is longer and focuses on both skill development and knowledge, along with practical assessments.

  • It provides in-depth training to prepare students for assessments.

  • Ideal for those who need hands-on practice before taking the practical exam.

  • Recommended for individuals who do not regularly engage in first aid at work, as first aid training is refreshed every three years.

Express Course
The express face-to-face course is shorter and focuses only on practical assessments.

  • It does not include training before the assessments; students are expected to already have hands-on experience.

  • Suitable for those who have previously completed a first aid course and regularly practice their skills at work or in a first aid role.

  • If additional training is needed to complete assessments, extra fees may apply, or students may be advised to take the standard course instead.
