About this course
This course provides students with the essential skills and knowledge to administer first aid to infants and children in accordance with the guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national clinical bodies.
It is specifically designed for professionals working in education and childcare settings who may need to respond to first aid emergencies, including asthma and anaphylaxis incidents. This includes early childhood educators, school-age care providers, and staff in vacation care programs.

Course Cost: $174.00 per person
Delivery Method:
- Face-to-face training with required pre-course learning. *We come to you*
Duration:
- Express Online Learning takes about 2.5 hours, followed by a practical Face-to-Face session, a minimum of 1 hour.
- Standard Online Learning takes about 2.5 hours, followed by a practical Face-to-Face session, a minimum of 6.5 hours.
Prerequisites:
- No formal prerequisites are required.
- Participants should have basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Entry Requirements for Express Course:
- Participants must have previously completed HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting within the last three years.
- A copy of the expiring Statement of Attainment must be provided on the day of training.
Training Requirements:
- The course includes theoretical instruction, hands-on practice, and real-world scenarios.
Assessment:
- Participants will complete a knowledge test and practical assessments, including CPR and first aid techniques.
- Those undertaking Anaphylaxis training will also be assessed on recognising and managing these conditions in simulated environments.
Course Renewal:
- The Statement of Attainment is valid for 3 years.
- CPR training must be renewed every 12 months to maintain certification.
Units of Competency
Upon successful completion, students will receive the following nationally recognised unit(s) issued by ABC Licence Training Pty Ltd (RTO 3399):
- HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid
- HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
